The Salvation Package: What happens when you become a christian

We celebrated the death and resurrection of Jesus this past weekend, but do we know what it means for us?
In God’s original plan, man was one with Him and lived in His presence. There was no sickness, no decay and no death. This was until sin was introduced to man. In God’s justice system, sin is punishable by death and once He makes a law, even He cannot change it (Romans 6:23). That’s God’s righteousness and why we can believe Him once He makes us a promise.
Mankind had to die for his sin unless someone without sin could take his place. God decided to send His only Son to take on everything man was supposed to suffer because of his sin. He died so we don’t have to. When He resurrected, we resurrected with Him as fully reconciled to God like we were before Adam sinned. Jesus Christ is the one that restores us back to God’s original plan for us and makes us children of God! That’s the quick version of why we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus.
Being reconciled to God doesn’t just mean we get to go to heaven when we die. It means we get a “salvation package” filled with awesome blessings that we can enjoy here on earth!
Benefits Puzzle Shows Company Rewards Or Bonus Compensation
You know how you get a benefits package when you get a new job? Well, the same thing happens when you get saved but many of us have never opened our salvation package to know what is rightfully ours let alone to take advantage of it! This package includes but is not limited to:
Salvation (John 3:16)
Physical healing (Isaiah 53:5)
Emotional healing (Isaiah 61:1)
Freedom (John 8:36)
Victory (1 Corinthians 15:57)
Eternal Life (John 3:16)
Forgiveness (1 John 1:9)
Abundant life (John 10:10)
Peace (John 16:33)
Hope (Romans 15:13)
Worry-free life (Philippians 4:6-7)
Provisions (Matthew 6:31-32)
Adoption into God’s family (John 1:12-13)
God living in us through the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:6)
Many Christians still deal with sicknesses, fears, depressions, anxiety, worry although our salvation package gives us power over all these things! We cry out to God to deliver us from things not knowing that when Jesus died and rose again 2000 plus years ago, we received power to overcome these things! We must exercise our faith and claim them!
It’s like being eligible for benefits at work but you never actually sign up to get those benefits. Some people flat out reject them. Your employer is not going to force you to get insurance if you don’t want it. He did his part by making it available to you and letting you know you qualify for it. It’s the same thing with our salvation. Some people don’t even believe in healing and others think living in poverty and brokenness somehow makes them more spiritual.
If we want to truly celebrate His death and resurrection, we must live our lives so that His sacrifice is not in vain. Don’t reject Him by living your life as if nothing happened. You let the devil walk all over you. You accept every horrible situation he throws at you as “part of life” and some even go as far as to blame God for their troubles! God sends His Son to die that you may be healed and then the same God turns around and makes you sick? Don’t believe the lies of the enemy. Jesus conquered Him and so have you!
