Fight Back: Don’t Let the Enemy Steal Your Promise

"Whatever is meant for me will be mine."

Have you ever heard that saying or even used it yourself? It sounds good and encouraging, doesn’t it?

But it’s not true.

Many of us believe that when God promises us something, it will automatically be ours—no effort required. We assume that because God has already given it to us, we don’t have to fight for it. But this mindset has led many of us into a lifestyle of disobedience, living outside God’s will and, as a result, forfeiting our blessings to the enemy.

The biblical truth is this: when God gives us a promise, we must fight to walk in it.

God’s Promises Require a Fight

The Israelites were promised a land flowing with milk and honey. God supernaturally delivered them from slavery in Egypt so He could lead them to this incredible place He had prepared for them.

But their journey to the Promised Land was anything but easy—it was filled with battles.

Even when they arrived, they had to fight enemies who seemed stronger and more powerful. They couldn’t just walk in and declare, “God said this is my land, so I’m here to possess it.” No, they had to fight for it.

In fact, that final fight was the very reason most of them never entered the Promised Land.

When they saw the giants and their fortified cities, they forgot that God had been fighting for them since they left Egypt. They weren’t spiritually prepared for the battle ahead. Out of over half a million people, only two—Joshua and Caleb—actually possessed the promise (Numbers 13–14).

Are You Giving Up Too Soon?

Just like the Israelites, many of us have forfeited our promised land because we didn’t expect the fight. The moment we faced resistance, we assumed we heard God wrong and gave up.

We took one hit from the enemy and said:

🚩 “This business idea wasn’t from God after all.”

🚩 “This marriage was a mistake.”

🚩 “Having these kids was a bad idea.”

🚩 “I wasn’t really called for this.”

We convinced ourselves that if it were truly from God, it would be easy, and we walked away—leaving behind what was actually His promise for us.

The Enemy Doesn’t Want You to Win

Satan knows that God’s promises for your life mean breakthrough and freedom—not just for you, but for your family and the people He has assigned to you.

That’s why the enemy won’t let you stroll into your promise without a fight. He will magnify the obstacles, the giants, and the mountains before you in an attempt to make you give up.

But don’t fall for his deception!

God Is Fighting for You—Keep Going!

The battle doesn’t mean the promise wasn’t from God. It’s a test of your faith and an opportunity to witness the power of the Mighty God you serve.

He is on your side, and He has already declared victory over you!

So, what have you given up on because you faced resistance?

Those giants in the land—the obstacles standing between you and God’s promise—are not bigger than God.

💡 The financial struggles that made you quit? Not bigger than God.

💡 The medical report that discouraged you? Not bigger than God.

💡 The critics and naysayers who tried to shake your faith? Not bigger than God.

It’s Time to Fight Back!

Get up. Fight back. Possess the land!

It’s yours.

Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.” Numbers 23:30 NIV
